Why read historical fiction?

There is something really special about historical fiction. Unlike fantasy, or contemporary fiction an author has to to research the era they want to write about because if they don't, you can guarantee that a reader will know!

I think it takes a special kind of dedication to pen a book set in the past, and that is why historical fiction is one of my favourite genres.

The care and attention that has gone into these stories always leaves an impression. If you have never read historical fiction then now is the time.

If you don't know where to start, first think about your favourite era in history, say the Tudors, and then search amazon for books set in this era.

Once you have chosen your book just sit back with a nice cup of tea and enjoy.
