Review

⭐⭐⭐⭐

I was surprised by how quickly the story pulled me in. I loved discovering the plot through Ivanna’s eyes as she unravels the secrets hidden in her grandparents’ attic. The treasure map, the link to her grandfather’s past as a POW, and the shadow of Nazi-era theft gave the story a solid emotional core that made the unfolding mystery feel personal rather than just adventurous.

What really kept me turning pages was the tension between the modern investigation and the historical threads woven through it. Matteo, with his calm expertise in the mountains, added a steady balance to the rising danger, while the antagonist’s cold, strategic presence pushed the story into genuinely suspenseful territory. The Alps themselves became part of the drama—isolated, unforgiving, and perfect for the book’s escalating stakes. Even when the plot grew dense with twists, I found myself invested in how the characters navigated both the physical risks and the moral ones.

While not flawless—the pacing occasionally slowed and there were a few too many coincidences—I still found the story gripping, atmospheric, and full of surprises. The blend of historical intrigue, modern crime, and character-driven tension made the journey worth it.
