Review
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Sarah’s Destiny by Vicky Adin is a deeply moving historical novel that follows Sarah Daniels through the joys and hardships of her life. From the very beginning, Sarah feels like a real person—someone shaped by duty, family expectations, and the daily demands of helping at The White Hart Inn in Bristol.
What makes this story so engaging is how naturally Sarah’s life unfolds. Her relationship with John brings hope for something more, but the novel never pretends love solves everything. Their marriage has tenderness, but also pain, especially as his addiction and absences begin to affect them both.
Sarah faces heartbreak more than once, and the book handles these moments with real sensitivity. Her losses feel honest and emotional, never exaggerated. When her father dies and she must take on the inn herself, it becomes a turning point in her life.
One of the best things about the novel is Sarah’s growth. She doesn’t suddenly become fearless or transformed overnight. Instead, she grows stronger little by little through everything she endures, which makes her journey feel believable and inspiring.
The historical setting is also wonderfully done. Life at the inn feels vivid and full of detail, while also showing how limited women’s choices could be at the time.
By the end, Sarah feels like someone you’ve truly lived alongside. Sarah’s Destiny is a warm, emotional, and rewarding story about strength, survival, and finding your own sense of self through life’s challenges.
